Transforming Public Services with Data and IoT
The opportunities for government to harness data to identify and deliver enhanced public services are significant. Local Government councils synthesize and process vast amounts of data every day to add value to citizen’s lives, improve their service experiences, and deliver better outcomes. This data can be used to simplify and streamline everyday lives of people, generate insights that create a more inclusive community, and help navigate inadvertent situations triggered by climate change, pandemic, etc.
To explore further, Meeta Akhelikar, Business Leader for Public Sector Growth at Microland, and David Wilde, General Manager for Government, GovX Digital engaged in an insightful conversation to explore how IoT can support:
- Better places to live through intelligent transport, smart homes, and community hubs
- Increase economic growth by re-inventing town centres and high streets
- Improve the environment around us
- Help to protect vulnerable people through assisted living and identifying areas of socioeconomic need to deliver citizen services.
